The National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) through its 305 human resource has been ensuring pure, wholesome and safe supply of meat and meat products in the country for 40 years now. But such number of employees is not sufficient to supervise and control meat inspection in 458 accredited “AA” and ”AAA” meat establishments engaged in domestic and international meat trade. The NMIS needs to expand its human resource in order to effectively fulfill its mandate of ensuring safe meat for consumers.
