NMIS extends support to iAMResponsible Campaign 

 The National Meat Inspection Service represented by Atty. Beata Humilda Obsioma participated on the launching of IamResponsible Campaign led by Food and Agriculture Organization and Department of Agriculture at Luxent Hotel, Timog Avenue, Quezon City on November 19, 2018. The event began with a welcome remarks by Dr. Adela B. Contreras, Overall Coordinator, Bureau of Animal Industry Food Safety Programme wherein she emphasized the importance of combating antimicrobial resistance.

Dr. Ronnie Domingo, OIC-Director of Bureau of Animal Industry also gave a brief message which in summary focused on the responsibility of the attendees of the event as the flag bearers of the campaign.

Furthermore, Dr. Samuel Joseph Castro, Assistant Focal for BAI Food Safety Programme and AMR Focal Person, shared the overview of the event by citing all the significant events leading to the development of IamResponsible Campaign.

There was also a short ceremony for opening of iAMResponsible Campaign participated by Dr. Reildrin Morales of Philippine College of Veterinary Epidemiology, Dr. Ronnie D. Domingo, Dr. Adela B. Contreras, Atty. Beata Humilda Obsioma, Dr. Semiona Regidor of Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Ms. Judith Platero of National Dairy Authority and Dr. Samuel Joseph Castro.

Afterwards, different organizations like Philippine College of Poultry Practitioners, Philippine College of Veterinary Public Health, and Philippine Veterinary Medical Association were given a time to declare their support on the said program.

The event ended with a Kapihan- Oras with Press wherein some of the heads of the organization sat down with various media outlets to answer their inquiries regarding the AMR campaign.
