DAP gives recognition to NMIS Re-entry project blinking-NEW

The Expert and Prompt Response Event- based Surveillance (ExPRESS Project) of Dr. Ma. Elaine Joy Villareal was acknowledged as the “Best Organizational Productivity Re-entry Project” by the Development Academy of the Philippines at DAP Conference Center, Tagaytay City, December 7, 2018.

Atty. Engelbert C. Caronal Jr., President and CEO of DAP and Nanette C. Caparros, Managing Director of Public Management Development Program presented the award during the Batch 16- Sangbigkis Commencement Exercise of Middle Managers Class participated by 34 scholars.

Dr. Villareal, NMIS Supervising Meat Control Officer of Plant Operation Standards Monitoring Division (POSMD) ExPRESS Project establishes a standardized process of collecting, monitoring, and interpreting information on animal disease outbreaks and health threats codified in a manual of procedures and cascaded using a new training module developed for its target recipients. The project would significantly help in the early detection, response, and efficient prevention and control of the spread of animal diseases to human beings. During her studyshe was guided by her institutional partner, Dr. Edna Y. Gray, NMIS POSMD Head and her faculty adviser, Dr. Alan S. Cajes. 

The ExPRESS members headed by Dr. Villareal already prepared the materials and equipment needed to facilitate the project that is expected to be formally launched this January 2019.

Last 2015, an NMIS re-entry project about the Strengthening of Local Meat Inspection System by Dr. Josefina M. Rico, Regional Technical Director of Region VII was also awarded by DAP as the “Most Citizen-centric”.
