NMIS retains its ISO 9001:2015 Certification 

The National Meat Inspection Service- Central Office undergone the first follow-up audit for ISO 9001:2015 at NMIS MITDC Bldg, February 8, 2019.

The TUV Rheinland who granted the said certification to the agency last March 12, 2018 conducted the follow-up audit headed by Mr. Rolando Remitar, in order to evaluate the compliance of NMIS to the standards set by ISO 9001:2015

Before the audit, NMIS Quality Management Representative Dr. Marvin Vicente introduced the participants composed of NMIS Deputy Executive Director Atty. Beata Humilda Obsioma, NMIS Division, Unit and Section Heads and other representatives.

Atty. Obsioma gave an opening message wherein she said that the audit is important to help the agency improve and develop its system while Audit Leader Mr. Remitar discuss the scope of certification, objectives of the audit and the audit plan.

The Top Management Meeting was also conducted with the participants wherein Mr. Remitar checked the documents which contains the status of action from previous management reviews, changes in external and internal issues relevant to the quality management system, information on the performance and effectiveness of the quality management system, effectiveness of actions taken to address risk and opportunities and many more.

During the random audit of Mr. Remitar on Human Resource, Purchasing and Planning and Information Management Division to check the compliance to ISO standards, Dr. Vicente and Ms. Marianne Jane Villareal, QMS Document Controller were present as representatives of NMIS and also to assist the auditor.

Follow-up audits were also held on other three sites specifically RTOC XII (Davao City) by Ms. Rene Rose Zara and RTOC VII (Cebu City) by Mr. Remitar on February 7, 2019 and RTOC IV-A (Lipa, Batangas) by Ms. Zara, also on February 8, 2019.

ISO 9001: 2015 is defined as the international standard that specifies requirements for a quality management system (QMS). Organizations use the standard to demonstrate the ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements.
