NMIS employs 16 Meat Inspectors for fortifying Meat Inspection 

The National Meat Inspection Service- Human Resource Management Section conducted an oath taking ceremony for newly hired meat inspectors, administrative officer and five veterinarians at NMIS Salvador H. Escudero Hall, February 11, 2019.

Before the ceremony, NMIS Executive Director Dr. Ernesto S. Gonzales delivered an opening message wherein he urged NMIS employees to act in accordance with the words stated in Patriotic Oath (Panatang Makabayan) in order to be productive and helpful citizens to the country.

Dr. Gonzales then led the oath-taking of 16 New Meat Inspectors namely Iris Angeli David, Earl Joshua D. Mendoza, Luv Karen Dagoco, Amalia Gayondato, Reinalyn Austria, Rey Zante, Joel Falsario, Julius Cesar Lacandazo. Hannah Lou Cabahug, Maria Glenda Fajardo, Ahmad Linnga, Marilou De Leon, Jasmin Loria, Barbette Camante, Carlo Fernandez and Loida Gambala.

The hiring of meat inspectors was done to address the problem on lack of personnel who serve under the increasing number of meat establishments like slaughterhouses, poultry dressing plants, cold storage warehouses etc.

Moreover, it was done to achieve the goal of providing safe meat to everyone through augmenting the people who are tasked to do the inspection in meat establishments.

The other six employees who took the oath are Dr. Magdiwang Cruz and Dr. Rona Regina Reyes, now Supervising Meat Control Officers, Dr. Leo Caduan, Dr. Rene Molina and Dr. Liwanag Datwin, now Senior Meat Control Officers and Mr. Gian Tabing, now an Administrative Officer II.
