NMIS ISO Certification Maintained

 After the process of evaluation last February 7, 2019 at the Central Office, RTOCs IV-A, VII and XII, TUV Rheiland Philippines Inc. announced last March 26, 2019 that the National Meat Inspection Service has maintained its ISO 9001:2015 Certification.

By passing the ISO standard, NMIS demonstrates that the agency consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements.

The ISO 9001:2015 certification’s main purpose is to assist companies and organizations in meeting statutory and regulatory requirements relating to their product while achieving excellence in their customer service and delivery. The standard can be used by the entire organization to improve their performance within a particular site, plant or department.

The NMIS Memorandum No. 2019-04-0387 was issued by Atty. Beata Humilda Obsioma, Officer-in-Charge, Office of the Executive Director last March 28, 2019 which officially announced the good news to the Regional Technical Directors, Dr. Fernando Lontoc of RTOC IV-A, Dr. Josefina Rico of RTOC VII and Dr. Neonette Agreda of RTOC XII, Division Chiefs and Section Heads who participated in the first follow-up audit conducted by Dr. Rolando Remitar and Ms. Rene Rose Zara last February 7 to 8, 2019, respectively.

In preparation for the 2nd follow-up audit on February 2020, Atty. Obsioma also stated in the memorandum that the concerned divisions, units and sections should attend to whatever commitment stated in the minutes of the 2nd Top Management Review.

The Top Management will review the organization’s quality management system, at planned intervals, to ensure its continuing suitability, adequacy, effectiveness, and alignment with the strategic direction of the organization.
