Dr. Reildrin G. Morales, the new Executive Director of National Meat Inspection Service made his first official appearance during the flag raising ceremony held at NMIS Salvador H. Escudero Hall, March 9, 2020.

In a speech he delivered in front of Central, Office, NCR and Region IV-B Personnel, he said that he was humbled when he received the news about the appointment. He further said that he is looking forward to work in NMIS and expressed his gratitude to Department of Agriculture Secretary William Dar, President Rodrigo Duterte and the Creator.

Dr. Morales also acknowledged that he needs cooperation and collective action on the part of employees to achieve the goals of NMIS in two and a half years’ time that was given to him.

“Dedepende ako sa bawat isa sa inyo” he emphasized these words and mentioned that his background and experience in Bureau of Animal Industry and United Nations- Food and Agriculture Organization mainly focused in Animal Health. Diving in what he considered “new territory” which is food safety will be easier if all NMIS employees will contribute, and help him.

Moreover, he declared that he will institute improvement to the agency no matter how small they are. He said that he discourages corruption in any way possible and work only without regards to affiliation or personal bias in order to elevate and improve the overall performance of NMIS.

So far, his first plan is to pay a visit to all NMIS divisions next week in order to familiarize himself on their tasks and responsibilities.
