NMIS CONDUCTS LEVELLING WORKSHOP FOR TRAINING, ENFORCEMENT AND CONSUMER PROTECTION PROGRAM

 

In the first month of the year, the National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) conducted Levelling Workshop for Training, Enforcement, and Consumer Protection Programs under the leadership of the Meat Standards Development Consumer Protection Division (MSDCPD). This was held at Training Room 1, 3rd Floor, NMIS-MITDC Building. The levelling workshop aimed at improving the MSDCPD Programs and the participants’ capacity to ensure that only safe meat, from farm to fork, will be made available to consumers. 

NMIS HEIGHTENS POST MARKET SURVEILLANCE

 

With the success of “Oplan Pasko Na Naman 2015”, DA OIC Assistant Secretary for Regulations and concurrent Executive Director of NMIS, Dr. Minda S. Manantan, directed the National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS), particularly the Enforcement Team of the Meat Standards Development Consumer Protection Division (MSDCPD), to continue its nationwide post market surveillance, as required by the Department of Agriculture (DA) Administrative Order (AO) No. 20 series of 2010 (Guidelines on Post Meat Establishment Control).

NMIS PROGRAM RAISED INCOME OF 31 LGUs WITH BETTER ABATTOIRS, RETAIL MEAT SHOPS

 

THE National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) of the Department of Agriculture (DA) on Thursday released a studythat assessed and evaluated the impact of the Meat Establishment Improvement Program (MEIP) in 31 local government unit (LGU) beneficiaries in the country. The program brought an increase in meat-retail shops and meat trading in some areas. This translated to more jobs and income within the municipalities, said the Infoshare Management Systems (IFMS)—the company commissioned by the NMIS to conduct the impact- assessment study.
