Executive Director Dr. Clarita M. Sangcal administered the oath taking of Ms. Mary Rose T. Delijero as Administrative Officer II during the flag ceremony held at SHE Hall, MITDC Building, No. 4, Visayas Avenue, Vasra Quezon City on April 1, 2024.

Ms. Delijero who has previously worked in NMIS as Clerk IV on a Contract of Service capacity from 2012 to 2020 will be reporting to Administrative Division under the Human Resource Management Section. ###

NMIS Unveils Groundbreaking Proposal for Digital Transformation in Meat Transport Vehicle Registration

In a significant move towards embracing digital transformation, the National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) presented an innovative concept proposal for the digitization of Meat Transport Vehicle (MTV) management. The presentation took place on March 8, 2024, at the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) in Pasig City. The NMIS team, consisting of Dr. Maria Fatima Amparo, Mr. Ed Gerome Borja, and Dr. Adora Garcia, spearheaded the presentation. Key stakeholders (Institutional partner representatives), including Dr. Vernadette Saninad, the OIC Chief of Meat Import Export Division, together with Dr. Cyrus Michael Dugayo, Sr. MCO and Dr. Isabel SP. Rosales, MCO-I of Accreditation and Registration Division, joined the DAP panel to evaluate and provide insights into the proposed innovation.

Training of Clinical Instructors in Meat Inspection

Eleven (11) Veterinarians from Central Office and Regional Technical Operations Centers (RTOCs) successfully completed the Training of Clinical Instructors (CIs) in Meat Inspection (1st Batch- Cattle) from February 26 to March 01, 2024, at Training Room A, MITDC Building, No. 4 Visayas Avenue, Vasra, Quezon City. The training aimed to nurture and harness the expertise and proficiency of participants, empowering them to be competent and effective Resource Speakers and Clinical Instructors of meat inspection—a vital role in ensuring food safety and quality. Through a comprehensive module, it will not only enhance their knowledge in meat inspection protocols and standards but also refine their communication and instructional skills by equipping them with the necessary tools and techniques.
