The NMIS welcomed His Excellency, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ricardo Luis Bocalandro
The National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) welcomed His Excellency, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ricardo Luis Bocalandro of the Argentine Republic, on 21 January 2025, for a courtesy visit to Dr. Roberto S. Umali, the newly appointed Officer-in-Charge, Executive Director of NMIS.
During the meeting, Dr. Umali, together with Dr. April B. Chavez, Chief of the Meat Import and Export Division, engaged in a productive discussion with Ambassador Bocalandro. The dialogue focused on potential areas of collaboration to strengthen bilateral relations between the Argentine Republic and the Philippines, particularly in the fields of meat importation and food safety. The conversation also highlighted the importance of mutual support in enhancing laboratory capacity and adopting advanced technologies to maintain an efficient meat inspection system.
