NMIS bleeds white and purple to support Women’s Month

On March 6, 2020, Friday, NMIS Employees, regardless of gender, wore white polo shirt with shades of purple that symbolizes the advancement of women’s rights and stopping gender-based violence and discrimination against women. The activity signaled the NMIS support to Women’s Month Celebration.

Beside the mentioned activity which will be done on the remaining Fridays of March, the NMIS also showed its support to the nationwide celebration through the conduct of various activities in its Central Office and Regional Technical Operation Centers.

The celebration was officially launched last March 2, 2020 at NMIS Salvador H. Escudero Hall after the flag ceremony. Ms. Luzviminda Joseph of Administrative Office mentioned the significance of the celebration as a venue for empowering women.

NMIS also hung the official streamer at the lobby entrance which inculcates to NMIS employees the importance of promoting gender equality to workplace with its theme “Make Change Work for Women”. It also delivered a message to create an environment where women are heard, appreciated and accepted and gender stereotypes no longer hold back opportunities for them.

The Human Resource and Development Section also informed the employees of the activities under the Serbisyo Para Kay Juana of Civil Service Commission which offers free services to selected attractions such as National Planetarium Shows, Museo ni Manuel Quezon, Pasig River Ferry and Fort Santiago.
